Tate Snyder Kimsey is currently working with Runsun Development Group on the CXTX auto mall. Phase two is a mixed used development, which is based on the auto theme. The 3,000,000 square foot project is located at Kunming, Yunnan province, and consists of dealerships, a used-car carmax center, new car exhibition show room, retail, auto cafeteria, 150 meter office tower, hotels, resorts and two apartment towers.
The design is based on the characteristics of a hillside village. Winding roads with shops on both sides remind people of charming Italian mountain villages. Winding roads are not only pleasant to walk but also interesting to drive. The road is designed to fit the human scale. The bridge that connects both sides on the upper floor activates the space, thus becoming a focal point and a viewing platform.
Phase 3 of the Auto Park, consisting of approximately 10 million square feet, will feature a number of attractions and theme park activities such as cars land, racing and related commercial support amenities.
