The Role

We’re seeking a smart, creative, energetic and self-motivated Senior Project Manager to join our Los Angeles, California studio, where you’ll leverage your experience in architecture, your attention to detail, and interpersonal skills to deliver exceptional client projects on time and on budget. You will deploy resources to ensure that our work process flows smoothly while acting as the primary liaison between our team and clients. This is a great opportunity to join a highly creative, collaborative team while working on projects in the public education sector.

What You'll Do 

  • Implement one or more client projects through the leadership of project teams

  • Provide leadership to client and team by creating and communicating project objectives, requirements, contract scope, terms, and schedule for the team

  • Manage scheduling, budgets, staffing, and project set-up with clients, sub-contractors, vendors and contractors

  • Track and manage financial performance of project for success (e.g., work plan, schedule, fees, change orders, billings and collections) and interact with Accounts department to ensure billing milestones are met

  • Manage project lifecycle from kick-off to close-out

  • Collaborate with colleagues and leaders on business development

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field; Master's degree preferred

  • 8-10+ years of relevant project management experience in the field of public education (K-12 or Higher Ed)

  • Minimum 5 years` experience working with the Division of the State Architect (DSA) to create sustainable educational facilities and ensuring projects adhere to building codes and conform to contract

  • State of California architecture license required

  • LEED accreditation preferred

  • Experience negotiating project scope, fees, managing project financial performance, and ensuring fiscal responsibility for projects

  • Experience with the full project lifecycle through to post-occupancy

  • Knowledge of California building codes, standards and building structures

Preferred Qualities 

  • Experience with project management software, such as MS Project, a plus

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup or Rhino a plus

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) preferred
