A variety of conceptual design options were evaluated for the new Shangrao Bank Headquarters to be located within the Central Business District in Nanchang, the capital city of Jiangxi Province in China. The selected option is a straightforward form that coveys financial institution’s modern spirit while maintaining construction simplicity.

Each facade is divided into three parts and is articulated by variations in the curtain wall. The center swath of metal curtain wall captures and reflects sunshine and is flanked by glazing punctuated by contrasting vertical and horizontal lines. The dynamic interplay of detail, light and shadow create visual excitement and help set the structure apart from the surrounding towers.
