On Friday Nov 22, TSK Architects was presented with the Nevada chapter of the American Institute of Architects’ 2019 Firm Award, the Silver State’s most prestigious award for an architecture firm. TSK, which will be celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2020, also brought home two additional honors at the annual Design & Service Awards Gala.

Hundreds of employees from architecture firms across Nevada attended the event at the Four Seasons Hotel, which recognizes companies producing distinguished architecture and serving the communities in which they are located.

“Our team works incredibly hard to build a culture of care and quality – their passion and personalities are the fuel that keep TSK growing, evolving and expanding,” said Windom Kimsey, President and CEO of the firm.

Jury Chair James Horn, AIA cited TSK’s “contemporary approach in the architecture field” and “philosophy of a clear and fair collaboration, designing spaces that meet clients’ expectations and inspire inhabitants resonates in their submission. TSK’s interest in providing a durable, long-lasting architecture that connects with its environment is apparent.”

The jury also praised TSK for its focus on community and development of its employees (there are currently over 70 staff located in 5 offices), noting “their work shows a strong commitment to community stewardship and nurturing the next generation.”

While the company continues to grow strongly, Kimsey maintains the company’s goal is to retain a sense of nimbleness that allows them to be both local and personal. A narrow focus on building personal relationships and a portfolio of quality projects has been key to TSK’s success.
