The future home of the UNLV School of Medicine is a collaboration with CO Architects in Los Angeles, California. The program includes classrooms, skills and simulation training spaces, anatomy labs, administrative offices, community life spaces, and a Learning Resources Center, all allowing for the School to increase its class size from 60 to 120 students.

Because the school is focused on service to the State of Nevada and gives priority to students with ties to Nevada, conceptually, the design is inspired by context, climate, history, and the geography of Nevada. The four story building is expressed by a base that is expressed with natural materials, with the remaining floors lifted above; bands of clear/translucent glazing mediated by vertical fins to control solar exposure. Insight has been found in the rugged, powerful desert landscape, and the building expression is translucent and transparent, while establishing a unique and subtle glowing presence within the Medical District.
