Sage Ridge School Master Plan

TSK Architects was engaged to Master Plan and develop design concepts for the future expansion of the Sage Ridge School located in Reno, NV. The purpose of the master plan was to develop options for the expansion of the school to its full capacity, program and prepare preliminary designs for the school’s next planned construction projects: Knowledge Lab, Performing Arts Theater, and Gymnasium. The site has been organized to create a college-like campus experience consisting of a series of courtyards that are linked by a north/south circulation route. The courtyards are integral to the campus experience and will accommodate a range of activities essential to the mission of the school including: outdoor group learning, outdoor learning labs, small group and individual study, age appropriate activities, hosting ceremonial functions, and creating a new entry experience to the campus. The Knowledge Lab contains modern library functions, small group activity spaces, team areas, presentation zones, think tank, and maker labs. The Knowledge Lab is 10,227 square feet. The Performing Arts Theater contains a flexible stage, fixed seating for 170, technical catwalks, in-house control station, control booth, dressing rooms, loading dock, and exterior performance space. The theater is 12,771 square feet. The gymnasium contains multipurpose competition hardwood floor, telescoping bleachers for 750, locker rooms, offices, weight rooms, storage, concessions booth, campus central plant, and concourse/display hall.
